Three Belgian public holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday in 2027. Which ones, and when you get a day off in return.
Labour Day
. With a standard five-day week, you get a replacement day.
Assumption Day
. A Sunday public holiday must always be replaced by your employer.
Christmas Day
. With a standard five-day week, you get a replacement day.
What to do before planning your leave.
Check first whether your sector or employer has already fixed the replacement dates.
If nothing has been fixed, you fall back to the first workday after the holiday.
Don't count on a replacement day until your employer announces the date.
